Cuyahoga

Cuyahoga County is a county in the state of Ohio with a population of 1,228,231 (Claritas, 2024). The county seat and largest city is Cleveland. The county is named after the Iroquoian word Cuyahoga, which means 'crooked river'. The name is also assigned to the Cuyahoga River, which bisects the county. Cuyahoga County is included in the Cleveland-Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.
